MARC davis
Founder
Car was Marc’s first word. According to his mom, he was calling out makes and models before he could see over the dashboard, and his wife says his eye only wanders when chrome is involved. In fact, anyone who knows him - from the hundreds of clients he worked with in 20+ years of running tech businesses in Austin to his engineering buddies on the electric vehicle team at Cornell University -- will tell you: he was meant to do this. In 2017, after years of calling it a hobby, founder Marc Davis finally put the pedal to the floor on Moment Motor Company.
Mark FORD
Fabrication & Assembly
Mark started working on his first VW Bug at age 15, before he could drive. But after years under Volkswagens and Harleys, it was music that brought him to Austin. Mark spent a decade playing in bands before attending the Lonestar Roundup car show that reignited his inner motorhead, and soon he was interning at the Austin Speed Shop while attending welding school. The two Marc(k)s met more than a decade ago as active members of Austin’s hotrod community and the rest is history.
Geoff Raynak
Mechanical Engineering
Geoff has always had a passion for designing and engineering things that go. He grew up around horrible cars… and some great ones too. In fact, the first car he called his own, a 1972 BMW 2002, inspired him to pursue Mechanical Engineering at Cornell where he met Marc. In the 25 years since, Geoff has worked on everything from fighter-jet safety systems to bicycle suspension. His current personal project is reviving a 1946 International Metro. Needless to say, Geoff jumped at the chance to work with his long-time friend transforming iconic classics at Moment.
Kevin Silva
Machining and Assembly
One of Kevin’s earliest memories is in the rumble seat of a Model A hot rod, hitching a ride to an A&W root beer stand with his uncle. As the grandson of a service station owner, cars have been in Kevin’s family for generations, so it was no surprise when he began his career as a mechanic 30 years ago. Most recently working as an engine machinist focused on Jaguar restorations, Kevin is a stickler for build quality… so he was skeptical when he poked around his first Moment vehicle. Examining the meticulous electric integration, Kevin was sold, and shortly thereafter became a full time member of the Moment team.
TERI TAYLOR
Sales & Marketing
Growing up playing in her Dad’s auto repair shop, it was only natural that Teri’s first car was a classic: a 1970 Buick Skylark convertible. Her love for cars old and new eventually led Teri to become a Product Planner for Nissan North America, where she worked closely with consumers to understand what the market wanted and to implement those demands in the Nissan/Infiniti line-up. Teri saw the allure of Moment Motors from the start, and was one of the first customers in line with her ’78 Datsun 280Z. Of course, it was driving her “Moment Z” that convinced Teri she needed to spread the word to those near and far… by becoming a member of the Moment team.
